Math. How I Chose My Next Gen Console

Ummm...

When the next gen consoles launched in November of 2013, I was underwhelmed.  They were nothing truly ground breaking and there weren’t any games I had to play.   Read More…

I Still Don’t Have a Next Gen Console

which one???????????

I still don’t have a next-gen console. You’re probably asking yourself- what the hell kind of a video game blog is this? The answer to that is “not a good one.” But what you should be asking is: why don’t you have an Xbox One or Playstation 4… yet? There are two reasons. Read More…

The Bullshit Review Scale

Part of why I read reviews is to decide whether or not I should play/buy a game. Games cost money and with a regular 9-6 job my time is limited in what I can play.  I have to make that count.  Also, I like reading reviews! If I’m going to play a game from start to finish and then talk about it, I should also post my own formal review of it.  Makes sense, right? But what makes Read on…

I’ve been a hardcore Xbox fan since Microsoft’s rookie console.  I loved the graphics.  I loved Halo.  I loved the controller.  I loved the multiplayer experience.  Until a couple years ago, I had never even owned a Sony console.  They didn’t have games I could justify spending another $400 for.  Even if they did, I hated the controller- that was my main reason for holding back.  It never fit well in my hands!  So I just passed on it.

There was something bothering me, though. Read More…

Fuck the Xbox One.

Before watching the the Xbox One reveal I felt like a kid on Christmas Eve.  I knew I wasn’t going to get anything immediately but as a hardcore gamer I was dreaming of everything I wanted in Microsoft’s next console.  After all, it does mark the beginning of the next generation console war.

I was sorely disappointed, though.   Read More…
